Do you what the funny thing about all of this is? Is that it all has to with what Google provides website owners and webmasters...a way to be found. So of course they can do what ever they wish within the world of G. Fair or not. Webmasters just seem to rely too much on what they provide them for free...traffic. And a lot of webmasters got gready and minipulated the situation...and still do, over and over again. They feel (being their company) that they are often losing control.
We have to look at the big picture. If we are going to allow G to "control" what is seen on the web (assuming they are the only tool), then unfortunately we have to deal with the outcome. Maybe it is time to focus a little more on other SE's for traffic...and tap deaply into the social networks before Google controls this as well.
