but:
That's just speculation - the sitelinks are just done automatically by Google, there isn't a suggestion of trust or authority. Vanessa Fox of Google said:
"Our systems analyze the link structure of your site to find shortcuts that will save users time and allow them to quickly find the information they're looking for... If the structure of your site doesn't allow our algorithms to find good Sitelinks, or we don't think that the Sitelinks for your site are relevant for the user's query, we won't show them... At the moment, Sitelinks are completely automated."
As soon as the sitelinks appeared on Google, people started saying
"It's because the site is trusted"
or
"They do this for authority sites"
as if it was a fact. It's not, and there has never been any proper evidence for it being a sign of trust or authority. It's an assumption, which
I don't think is correct, because where's the proof that it is? There is none.
Not that it's that important, anyway.
