That is the most accurate statement I've heard all day. I can't speak for the world at large, but my observation of the American system shows that style wins over substance almost every time. Don't get me wrong.. a leader needs to be able to express his ideas and emotions well. That's what inspires people.
I'm just sitting in slack jawed amazement at what America will vote for if the proper stage presence is there even if the candidate has no credentials worthy of such a level of trust.
We Republicans have had a pretty pitiful pool to choose from since the beginning of this, and now have the second worst available choice (second only to Rudy) as the front runner. The Dems picked the two biggest turkeys running and have them rallied them to a passionate dead heat nationally.
McCain & Hillary are the best known (most famous, not necessarily worthy) and Obama is a great speaker with about as much practical substance as a cornflake.
God help us. We need a hero desperately.
