EmptySpaceAds

If this post belongs in another thread I apologize and please advise so I can re-post.

This week I came across what was to me a new idea for ads on a blog / web site. The concept is really two differing but related approaches.

For some blogs with columns, like mine, some times the posts in the main body go on sufficiently long so that the left / right columns become empty because the posts have exceeded the length of the left / right column content, thus creating empty space in the columns.

For other blogs, you might want ads to appear when the visitor rolls their mouse over a certain area of the blog containing content. The ad would appear and then go away after a few seconds.

Well, both concepts can be handled by what I think is a new firm called EmptySpaceAds.

They are very friendly and extremely helpful in getting you setup. The ad boxes which appear do not contain EmptySpaceAds. Rather, during your setup you embed the code from your advertiser (currently ShoppingAds) and it is that ad network's ads which appear.

The down side. Well, they are so new that currently they only have a relationship with ShoppingAds but I understand they are looking to gain affiliation with the more popular web site ads such as Bidvertiser, Adsense and Yahoo....but, again, that is only my conjecture.

Various options are available which is really cool because I could use the colour scheme from ShoppingAds and use options & sizing from EmptySpaceAds for a very nice, non-obtrusive effect.

Has anyone tried them yet? Curious on your thoughts!
Dan
