So I was wondering, would it be a good idea to rent a starter dedicated/shared host in the UK (that’s where I live) and transfer my urls to that? I’m worried that godday will charge huge amounts of money to release them.

If all you are going to do is put up small sites to start them, any reasonable quality shared hosting account ($5-10 per month) that allows addon domains will do the job for you. If your sites get busy then you may need to move some or all of them to a dedicated solution later.
Leave the domains at godaddy and just change the nameservers once you have a hosting account. GD is a safe registrar and you can host domains anywhere in the world using them as the registrar.
As to whether to host in the UK or the USA, it depends on what you think the market for the site would be. Pick the location that will give the fastest load times to the users. If your FTP connection is a bit slower, so what, you don't do that as often as your visitors use your pages.
