just my opinion... xp is the best so far. It wil give you such reliability that not all OS can provide. Also, almost all of the softwares are xp compatible.. vista etc will have to have a specific software version for some cases.. anyhow its still depends on your decision, interest and reasons of use.. hope it helps!
