Question Setting up your IP's

So, I have 10 IP's currently for my server.

I have 2 hooked up to my 2 nameservers.
I have 1 for the main shared IP and hostname.
The rest are unused

What would be a good way to use all of these?

I called up a guy from my datacenter, and he said he would use a couple for his main hosting website, so even if his clients sites were down, there was a good possibility his main one was still live. How would I go about doing this?

Now, I did try setting up my site to go to another IP, it worked. I got an error later saying that my hostname IP was not the same, so I reset the A Name in the DNS settings to coinside, which I think fixed the problem. So, how would you setup 2 IP's to your main site? Or is this even worth it?
