Your listing will stay in craigslist for a long time, but after a set amount of time, if someone clicks on an old listing, it will automatically be removed. I am not sure of the exact time, but I once clicked on a backlink coming from craigslist, and the page said that this is an outdated listing and it will be removed shortly. As a result I lost my backlink for a few days until I remade another listing.

Thanks for sharing. But I don't agree with above statement. There is no reason that craigslist will remove an ad because it is getting visitors from other websites. Google normally indexes craigslist ads within 24 hours. If an ad is flagged after google has indexed it, google will take time to remove it from it's index. So you may face this situation with old ads where you get an ad by google search but the ad no longer exists.
