Half-way there. The part you mention is just the fraction of seo copywriting process.
And, you are right if this is all seo copywriting than any tom, dick and harry can do it.
But, this isn’t.
What I do is…
1. Write the copy
2. Edit and re-create as per seo needs.
Two jobs: copywriting + SEO.

Scottie, I am puzzled by your statements. For a copywriter to craft compelling copy keeping in mind search engine technicalities is in itself a big task. No joke this one.

And more importantly for visitors. Seo copywriters’ job is to write persuasive copy which is keyword rich. A copy that can attract the search engine and appeal the visitor. The main target is not high search engine ranking alone. But both. High ranking and sales.
