Sitewide links could be a suspect for paid links... Let's say when you linked to a relevant site for a sitewide link, and that blog for example has 2,000 pages... Getting hundreds or thousands of links from a single domain wouldn't be a good thing... So whether it is related or a high PR site, still, it could drop your rankings...
