Just like what I have said IMO, regarding "sitewide links" it won't do you any good... whether it is related or a high pr site...
Let me elaborate things...
You have a sitewide link on a blog with let's say 2,000-3,000 inbound links coming on your site for that single domain...
It would give you a good traffic for sure... but with regards to SE's... They won't give you any SE love...
And would definitely drop your rankings...
