internal links and navigation
i am working on a website that has many small and semi valuable that i want to work into the navigation through internal linking, plus related articles and other features. i build a related services/pages/links near the headline, in a fairly lovely way. people use and it helped me quite a bit to get the navigation i needed.
now, some of the related links are incorporated into the text and with the related links, the sidebar menu and in the text, appear 3 times or more.
and i ask:
- should they repeat that many?
- is internal linking through a related menu is less effective, seo wise, then in text linking inside the text?
- are internal links more effective (the more relvent and important ones) when they appear above the fold, or early in code?
- generally, any tips on site architecture will be helpful.
thanks, john
