That happened to me over the summer when i was doing alot of programming for long periods at a time. I didnt have to goto the doctors, but i called him and asked about it before anything serious DID happen. He said that soe little things that can help are, to make sure you are sitting properly when typing, and to try and keep your wrist straight when typing or using the mouse,, so in other words just dont let your hands hang off the edge of the keyboard, so if you have one of those wrist thingys on your keyboard USE IT! I did those things and within a couple of days it was gone. Good luck with it though.
