Nofollow social media sites is important for blog promotion.

I heard a lot of bloggers screaming that they are not using some social sites because "nofollow" for each link.

Follow this:

- It is still not clear if Google, Yahoo, MSN count "nofollow" links. Some research show that "nofollow" links can give extra credit to a website. Many experts suggest that Google use "nofollow" as advice that it could be a spam. Google doesn't count "nofollow" links only if other factors (domain trust, spam complaints, domain history, "black hat", bad behaviour" ets) show spam as well.
- Many social sites with "nofollow" provide good traffic anyway. What the point to ignore this networks?
- If you use social media to get "dofolloow" link you are wrong. Use social sites to build reputation, find supporters, get extra traffic, promote brand etc...
- Avatar visibility (as well as logo of your site) on social sites can give great credit to your main blog / website.
- "Nofollow" for search engines! It is not for potential customer or partner. People do buy products after they find something on social networks.
- Good social site with "nofollow" could give way more than bad network without "nofollow".
