I'm not against your comments to that user but as a viewer here on this section and even the new ones, give some comments that may help the user to bring up comments that is related to that topic.

Anyways, I don't think Google no longer suggest directories because it's a part of a SEO cycle and a part also on optimization on Google. Maybe that article pertaining about paid directories and I already have some markups about it for the past months in which they quoted "Google hates Paid Links".
