How to get traffic

Hi,

I'm new here. I was wondering if anyone is familiar with affiliate marketing and what is the easiest way to get free traffic to your affiliate sites?

For example, if you had to pick a product from clickbank.com and make a sale what steps would you take?

What type of campaign would you set up that is completely free to do?

Nobody wants to be bombarded with blatant affiliate links. People hate being sold to. If you want to get someone's attention you need something more impressive.u shud use "MyLinkGuard" system this may help you

sign up in forums and go the link exchange section, try link exchange with similar sites/blogs, this will give you traffic as well

social bookmarking is a best way to generate
traffic to your site or and blog.. I have tried
it and the result is good. If you like to generate
traffic other than social bookmarking you can
try traffic exchange though the traffic is not
organic.

Press Releases works well. Want targeted traffic? Cruise the forums and see what the hot topics are related to your niche of course. Create a squeeze page touting that you have the answer to such and such problem and you are willing to give them a free report on your findings to subscribers only. If your report is good, this will give you about 10,000 new subscribers in 90 days.

This will allow you to send your special offers to your list which will be traffic to your offers from people who are interested in your offers.

Seo is one of the best free traffic. Problem is that it takes some time before starts working. What you could do is make a landing page or even better squeeze page and bookmark it (at least to 5 bookmarking services). Then open squidoo lens and write about product/niche that you are promoting. Make sure that you are using same keywords (and relevant keywords) on LP and squidoo lens and then link squidoo lens to your LP (use keywords in anchor text). After that you should bookmark you squidoo lens. Now you should do the same with all mayor free blog/page services like hubpages, gather, tumblr, weebly, article directorys. Just make sure you always use the same keywords and remember to bookmark them every time you have new post.

This site has been around since 2001 and has impressive numbers. Although the owner lives in San Diego which is where I live, I have constantly passed on this. My reason for passing is 1. This is not targeted traffic. 2. No matter how you slice it, it smells of matrix. 3. In order to be effective, you need a downline of 100,000 in my opinion.

Do not misunderstand and think I`m saying it`s a poor program. I`m saying that why would I want to build someone else a list? Still, this website has an alexa ranking of 39,000 compared to my sites which hovers around 300,00 is really impressive.

Since FreeViral is free, you got to promote it real hard. I checked David's post and it seems to be effective but of course, it's not free.

The best way to get people to your website is to be interesting. When people come they should find something interesting, which should bring them back to the website

I would suggest you to write articles and submit them to article directories. And then write a press release and distribute it to free pr distribution sites.

Just make sure that you do aggressive marketing for your website.

I would say search engine traffic is the most valuable traffic. These people are looking for what you are selling. This kind of traffic is difficult to get especially in the beginning at that point social bookmarking is your best bet.
