I've never tried facebook for affiliate marketing but they do have nice options for targeting specific groups or niches.

But they also are very quick to point out opportunistic marketing. And the whole "nofollow" deal makes it quite worthless.

I think it can very good market for advertising as it's a kind of social network which has many visitors daily and they can be interested in everything. So i there's a chance that your ad will work on Facebook.

It can be hard but as long as you offer something that's targeted for them it should convert.

For the paid ads we've had no luck in e-commerce conversions. But our Fan Pages is a good brand builder and when we run facebook ads to get more fans those ads convert VERY well (80%+). But the PPC is pricey for those, so it's what is it worth to buy fans for your page. Then what is each Fan worth to your business. I think it's a long term approach.

Send a message via Yahoo to Tilak
IMO Facebook helps to get traffic but not as a affiliate marketing tool.
