If You Want To Build An Affiliate Website What Are Your First Steps?

So, I have a strong interest in a niche I think I can monetize and according to the Google keyword tool external there is lots of search traffic to be had.

What I would like to know is it better to have no ads whatsoever when you start out? I mean should you completely focus on content and not concern yourself with monetization?

Is there a certain amount of traffic you need to reach before you make efforts to generate income?

The best thing is to start review site. As example web hosting reviews site. Because mainly visitors who comes to review site are strong buyers but with hesitation. If you nicely explain them benefits of your affiliate links they will convert very easily

I suggest you start with no ads and focus on building high quality content and on SEO (backlinks, keywords etc).

Until you get over a 1000 visitors a month you are unlikely to make much from ads anyway.

BTW - on keywords, search traffic is only half the equation - what matters, probably more initially, is the amount of competition you have. Sacrifice volume in favor of lower competition initially - so that you rank higher in the SERPs

I think you need to spend lots of time looking at ways to monotize your site. If you are only providing content later on you will be hesitant to add the stuff that makes money because of all the work.

Just use Wordpress for your site - quick indexing, good ranking (it you choose the right keywords) and really easy to monetize later on down the track when you have achieved decent traffic.

The first step that you need to go through is keyword research. This is important as this will determine whether there is a market or not for your product and service.
