How to promote my affiliate program?

So I have started an in-house affiliate program for my product(software). But I have no idea how to recruit affiliates.

Most forums dont allow advertising, affiliate directory brings very little traffic, CPC campaigns have low ROI.

Any ideas?

On some forums as in this forum, you can announce your affiliate program to the members. Visit our webmaster marketplace section and create a thread in the Joint Venture section.

On forums that you join, you could also put a link to your affiliate program in your signature it if that forum allows signatures. Some forums as in this one requires 30 quality posts in order to gain access to the signature feature. Be sure to read the forum rules on each forum you belong to about the signature feature.

You could find some blogs in your websites niche and ask if you could write a guest blog post. Insert a link to your affiliate page in there or your website. Perhaps a client/customer will join your program.

Do you have a email list, facebook page, twitter account? If so, mention the affiliate program in there.

Yeah that's right. Just some quick tips. Joining discussions with forums like this one is already one way of advertising your product and search for affiliates. Moreover, you can just simply get a good deal on some social networking sites or post about it in some site with high PR.

The best way is to join a big affiliate network that promotes your program...but this method means high costs also...

Joining an affiliate network would be the easiest option. However, most big networks have high entry fees and they want only the biggies. It is difficult, if you do not have a big budget and popularity.

Join different forums related to your niche and continuously participate in them and contribute as much as you can and this is how you can brand yourself and the members of those forums will show interest to join your affiliate network.Also do article marketing and It always works.Join relevant groups of facebook,participate regularly and seldom drop your links.

I believe this site will pay dividends in the future if properly used. I'm getting excited my affiliate program is almost done. Yeah!!! You could also join some banner advertising networks or list building programs. I have found them to be helpful and even gotten some signups. Or you could write articles. Most articles allow you to have a resource box. You can put your website in there.

What are you selling? What have you done to improve it, we are full of suggestions here but untimely you have to take those suggestions and make them work. I'm starting an affiliate program myself and even though I haven't got it up and running yet, I have done many things to help kick start it when I do have it up and going.

One thing I have also set up is a "Resource" page or "Link Exchange" page that I will exchange links with sites that are similar to mine, I have already found a few good links to exchange with, which when up and running could end up sending that "life saver" we are all searching for.

There are many forums you can goto and list your affiliate program. You could of alot submitted a press release and things like that.

Try selling through a trusted affiliate network, so people won't be afraid of being scammed. And, if your type of software allows, joint ventures can help a lot.
