commission junction is the last place I would deal with. I know this has been years ago but anyways . . .
I created a marketing book about 12 years or so back, this was shipped in the mail and not an ebook as this was before ebooks was popular. I paid for a merchant account through commission junction and deposited $1,000 as that is what was required back then.
I sold my marketing book (a few hundred copies) but sold none through commission junction at all. When I logged in my account 2 or 3 weeks later I noticed all $1000 was gone from my account. It was paid out to affiliates but yet I never made 1 sale from commission junction.
I contacted support about this and got a run around, needless to say I never seen my $1,000 again and I cancelled my merchant account with them.

Geez, that's some BAD luck right there! But I was wanting to know of some great affiliate programs that have set up merchant accounts with commission junction...you know, so I could promote them. Affiliate search doesn't do any good on commission junction.

Personally I would go more with someone such as http://shareasale.com. When I used to do affiliate marketing (I only sell my own products now) I did a great deal of business with shareasale.com and pulled in an easy $500 - $1,000 every month in affiliate commissions.

ShareASale has all kinds of different items / products. Products can range in price from small 50 cents (normally email capture forms) to several hundreds. They have been around for approx 8 years or so and have a solid business.
Besides the affiliate commissions I used to refer approx 2 clients (before I retired from web site design) to become merchants every month. They paid $100 for each merchant signup.

Irrespective of the experience of some people above, CJ has the biggest and best merchants, so they should not be really bad. If you want to see the best / best paying programs, there are tools in CJ itself. There are great companies in each niche, do some R&D and decide which one you want to promote.

You should be able to research merchants by niche on CJ. It's up to the merchant what they payout in commission, so it will vary. But basically.....the bigger the merchant, the lower the commission per sale. It's a balancing game. Bigger merchants, like Amazon, will have a higher conversion rate, versus smaller, less trusted merchants.

commission junction is the first affiliate network i joined, they are genuine but it is pain in ass applying for every offer and getting approved for it.Go for other affiliate networks ,you need not apply to each offer.Once you are in network then you can promote id directly

I'm using affiliatebot for our makeup website, L.A. Minerals. I have it set to auto approve applicants. Funny the site with the most clicks so far is a golf website! Guess women golfers visit the site too. I dunno.
AffiliateBots site is really easy to use both from an affiliate and merchant perspective.

Regardless of what you use to earn money, it will take time and effort. When doing affiliate marketing it mainly depends upon you what system will bring in good results.

Offtopic but that's horrible, I didn't expect such a response from Commission Junction.

Well I still have an original copy of my marketing book and the copyright on it is 1999. Many of the marketing tips in it are still used today for proper and effective marketing.
Now in CJ's defense I will say they was a young company then and it is years later now so they "might" be honest. Personally myself I would in no way, shape, or form deal with them again.
Hit me once shame on you, hit me twice shame on me. Not letting it happen a 2nd time.

TripAdvisor has been really good (comparatively) for my niche travel sites. Basically you make half of what they make and not just on sales, qualifying clicks as well. The area where I have made the most money through them is through their data feed, they got hotel listings for every country in the world, its very extensive
