The problem with CJ is that it is no good for newbies or sites that don't get much traffic and sales.

michael, if you insist on spamming around the name of your program, I will insist on moving that spam.

Affiliate Programs
Hey All,
I am new to the affiliate thing and am very excited to learn more about it!
It is very hard to decide which affiliate programs are good and which ones are bad and there are so many. A great way is if you can promote the products of a new business and grow with them. They will reward you if you are one of the first people to join and helped them grow their business.
Another issue I noticed is that most affiliate programs use cookies to remember the visitors, over time an IP address can change and if the person goes back and buys the product, you may not get the refferal bonus. Some programs allow you to simply provide a coupon so that the person with the coupon can get a discount and you get a % of the sale.

My 2 cents
After recent issues with Google payouts, we've been finding CJ good so far (although it is early days).
On the opposite side of the coin, it has been better for advertisers too. This is something that's important because if it doesn't look after both sides of the equation, you can expect that returns will fluctuate.

Our Internet presence since 1996 has helped to transform many new affiliate marketers into the top sellers in today's marketplace. You can be one of those affiliates!"

Lots of Good info here.
The best affiliate programs are the ones that you own and manage. If you have a product or service that you produce (or can acquire at wholesale pricing with terms) and spend a few hundred bucks for a reliable affiliate program, you will discover that your work time is severely reduced and your margins are comfortable.
Just my minimalist 2 cents,
Yosha

I'm a big fan of working with networks (clickbank, CJ, moreniche, leading edge cash) because there are a lot of different products to promote and you know you will get paid.

If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is
Especially if it has to be posted 9 times to get people to pay attention to it.

If you are just starting out in Internet Marketing with the aim to earn extra income or for whatever reason. Then the easiest and most uncomplicated way to start earning extra cash or building up a business, is by selling other peoples products, better know as Affiliate Marketing. A look at the various types of affiliate marketing opportunities that are available.
Affiliate marketing has become very popular, no longer is affiliate marketing merely thought of as an alternative method for the merchant to advertise his products, but also as a means of generating additional income for the affiliates. With the benefit of little to no start-up costs makes affiliate marketing ideal for people who want to try their hand at Internet Marketing. And has in fact become the number one provider of advertising for the merchants and the main source of income for affiliate marketers.
1. Pay Per Click (PPC)
2. Pay Per Sale (PPS)
3. Pay Per Lead (PPL)
4. Single-Level, Two-Level, and Multi-Level Affiliate Marketing
5. Residual Income Affiliate Marketing
The different affiliate marketing types work differently for merchants and affiliates alike, each would generally have their own list of benefits. Which method of affiliate marketing will work best for you? It is not for me to say. Rather, it is for you to choose which type of affiliate marketing program will suit your needs, characteristics and budget best.

Webcruzer has a pretty amazing 2 tier Affiliate program which allows you to earn extra ongoing income of 45% of its gross income. I use it and have made really good extra money from just refering people to their service.
You can check it out at www.webcruzer.com
cheers

One needs to pay attention when choosing an affiliate program and an affiliate network. Little research on both affiliate network and affiliate
programs can save a lot of time. There are a lot of good affiliate networks out which provide good programs. Here are some of them:
1) RevenueGateway
2) Commission Junction
3) ShareSale
4) LinkShare
5) Pepperjam

All those are very good but they are extremely expensive for someone starting up an affiliate program. Shareasale for ex is like $250 to setup and then you pay a monthly fee + a % on all the revenu. I think it is better to try and develop your affiliate program inhouse. I managed to implement an affiliate program into my website simply by using a coupon method. People who sign up are given their own coupon # to pass around, anyone who uses that coupon gets a discount on my site and the affiliate makes a percentage on the sale.
In my past experience as an affiliate marketer this is better because as I mentioned before, the IP address of a computer can change and therefore you can lose alot of commission this way.
