Clickbank
Can someone that uses this give me a bit of background on it please from an affiliate standpoint? I don't want to use it for marketing or anything, but was wondering how well it worked/paid for anyone that is using it successfully. Any tips on how to make decent money with it?

Clickbank is good if you know how to make good money from it. If you are just starting out and don't know much about affiliate marketing, the clickbank may not be for you, even though others may say it's a good place to start, I believe it is not really.
The bad thing about it is:
1. They deduct $2 per month of your earnings.
2. You have to get at least 4 sales from 4 different U.S credit cards before they realise your payments
3. You can reach your minimum payout many of times, but still not get paid any of it, but cause if you don't meet the four different credit card criteria then all you will be doing is getting the $2 deducations every month.
4. There are a few more things, but I have forgot them.

People claim clickbank is dying and I have to disagree, if you find a decent product it can still pay off pretty well.

Yes, it can pay pretty well, but even so it is still being used less than what it use to by affiliates be the looks of things.

So, I can take proper decision.

personaly i have never used clickbank as a paysite owner, only as an affiliate. I stopped using it around 2 years ago so it might have changed since. But at that time, there was absolutely no statistics, you did not know how many clicks you sent, geolocalisation of your traffic, etc. You only had the amount of sales and the commission. Again, i did not log in for a very long time so this might have changed...
Im using Verotel.com and they have a pretty amazing system. Simple to use, simple to integrate, easy to check your stats, you can do pretty much all you want. You can recruit your own affiliates and verotel will pay them weekly directly on the % of your choice. I love it

I agree it is worth it from a publishing point of view although some products will generate revenue for affiliates but it depends on the product/site.

Yep, reporting does suck as far as ClickBank is concerned, but they do offer a good variety of niche products that you can market. However, I have found that a large portion of their 'big earners' are of a questionable nature. see(paid warez sites)
I've earned a little, but my marketing does not cater to the majority of programs they offer.

I can't join Clickbank as my country is not listed (there's a way to join but I prefer not to go there...)
I prefer CJ and Amazon more.

Have you researched any additional networks? Clickbooth has great qualities (I may be a bit biased...but just trying to help ). PM me if you would like to talk more!
Best,

clickbank is great for publishers and affiliates.. I am both and I love it.
Tracking is good now. If using PPC you can see what keyword and ad group got the sale.
You get checks every 2 weeks and they are always on time.
There is a product for every niche!

yes it is still possible to make handsome profits but you have to search and promote harder. The market is more saturated and competitive than a few years back.

Ah Clickbank
As well as the other good points on this thread, I think it's worth mentioning that Clickbank, while it does provide a good source of income for vendors and affiliates that know how to spin gold from it, those that don't could find using Clickbank frustrating.
Europeans especially, or affiliates outside the US and Canada particularly may find it irritating when their bank wont accept a Clickbank check, which after all is fair enough - Clickbank isn't a bank in the strictest sense of the word. Real banks nowadays are pretty dubious about cross-boarder cheques coming in, after all almost all funds are sent bank-to-bank.
The authentication of the cheque, followed by the exchange of dollars into local currency can literally take weeks where the end result is often that the cost is far greater than the value of the cheque - so you end up throwing your hands up in the air, shrugging your shoulders and telling yourself that it simply isn't worth the hassle. And besides it's very demotivating - especially when Clickbank (bless their wisdom) deduct funds each month from your account.
Clickbank have informed me that they don't make wire transfers outside the US and Canada, unless you're an affiliate with a daily turnover of at least one thousand USD, there are no doubt those that do earn these numbers and of course I'd love to be on that list. Sadly, I've framed the 4 cheques that I received from Clickbank as a reminder that "not all that glitters turns out to be gold".
There are of course alternatives to Clickbank i.e. Paydotcom and Click2Sell, which may or may not be better or worse.
Take care out there
Blitzer

You do have to make a certain amount with clickbank taking their cut and usually the high street banks charge for currency conversion.

I have been with clickbank but not much sale and commission so far less than $100. I tried to use PPC but not much success and stopped doing so.

I don't think making money with any of the affiliates has any thing to do with that paticular com. they all have rules and regulation.
Find your nitch, market it make mistake, change your ways and start cashing your checks.
that's all
