I sold £260 of stuff in one transaction. Got a nice percentage of that

I myself haven't had much luck with affiliate programs so I gave it up. I ended up advertising for companies for nothing in return since most people will go out of their way just to go around your affiliate link and go straight to the main source.

I don't sell anything large enough to get a single item sale as large as some of yours.

I have a mortgage loans review site though. And one day I got $300 cummulative from one visitor because they went down the list and applied for a loan from every single one of the programs I was promoting. Nice.

I've had a few $150 commissions. These have been from web hosting. Directly selling web hosting on a site of mine, but I then finished working with that site as that niche is rather hard to work with and very saturated.

that is the main problem, unless you have provided a really useful service or advice will people click on your aff link. It is like a reward at times.
