Has anyone tried Adsense?
Has anyone here tried adsense on either their site or blog? Has it brought in any revenue?

Probably every webmaster on the planet (from accepted countries or who haven't been banned) have tried AdSense.
I would say yes it is a brilliant ad package, however strict they are, they do bring in the $$$.
When I had them on phpBB3styles.com it brought in about $3 a day, and the site gets around 700 unique vists a day.

I disagree, I think you need a site that gets a lot of impressions in order to make some serious $ with adsense, The program is not what it use to be a few years ago.

Thanks. I have always heard mixed reviews of Adsense, mostly of the opinion that you always needed huge traffic to make large $$ with it.

Absolutely! Adsense makes serious online revenue if used right. Be very careful not to try to fool Google though (with any click fraud or anything) because they are all over that!

It does bring in some money, but it depends on how big is your site.

Adsense brings me dollars a day. You can make money through adsense if you did right on your site and follow their TOS.

It will work, but how well will depend on your sites niche, your traffic and most importantly how well targeted the ads are to your visitors needs. In other words if you have a site about cancer then it is important for those ads to have a relation to the medical industry. If ads are being shown about web hosting then your less likely to make much money. I have actually run sites that made x,xxx dollars per month with only 1,000 plus uniques per day. However, the ads were targeted well and the niche worked well.

It does bring money, but your site has to attract extremely targeted traffic in order to attract ads worth more CPC. Most of the adsense publishers are smart priced, and they get very little CPC.
The trick is to be able to generate conversions for the advertisers whose ads get published on your site. Google tracks not only the Clicks coming from your site, but the quality of these clicks (measured in terms of the conversions generated by the advertisers).
It is really very complex system, I am still learning it.

Adsense is an excellent way to monetize a site or blog, but just be careful not to overdo it. It's tacky when a site has more Adsense ads than content. The key to making money with Adsense is to have excellent content, good targeted traffic (which your content will bring), and the right ad blocks and placement. Don't expect to pay the bills with it unless you are pulling in 10K uniques a day or more.

The finalize my though on adsense, I would say you cant make a living on adsense, it will cost more to run your internet than you earn from adsense unless you have a major website. I would stick with CPA networks.

I recently joined AdSense. It is a good way for hobby webmasters to bring in some extra money, but I am not expecting to make much money from it. On one hand, it does not take a lot of maintenance; just set it up and forget about it. On the other hand, you need a LOT of traffic to make any money from it. For example, say you want to replace a $50,000 per year day job with online revenue and you expect to make 2 cents per click on AdSense. That means you would have to get 2,500,000 clicks per year ( = 208,333 clicks per month = 6945 clicks per day). That is not just visits--that is click-throughs!!
I have also joined a few affiliate programs but didn't make a cent from them. I think affiliate programs take more time than an AdSense account. You have to try out several, constantly make changes, try new approaches, etc.
If you have the time, go for affiliate programs; if you are just a hobbyist who wants to make a few extra dollars, start with AdSense and see where that takes you.

Personally I think adsense pales in comparison to affiliate marketing for making big money. With adsense you need huge traffic before you see any real income. With affiliate marketing you can make big money with just a little bit of traffic, if it's targeted traffic.
