Best ways to promote?

I'm trying to find the best ways to promote my financial news blog. I currenty using stumbleupon and digg for traffic, as well as sig links in forums. I have also added it to blog directories and the like. I post almost daily. What else can I be doing? Thanks!

Video blogging on youtube works for me.

Comment on relevant blogs. It actually works quite well especially if they have the top commenter plug in installed

submit to directory, you can give a try with a forum marketing. or maybe you can visiting blog and drop a comments.

Stumble upon and Digg are one of the best social bookmarking sites around, so i would say you are on the right path. And i would suggest you to use some of the more Social bookmarking sites like Delicious, propeller and blinklist, because i do et good responses from these sites aswel.......

First promote it through social bookmarking sites like digg, stumbleupon, then move on to myspace, facebook, twitter, orkut, later on move on to youtube, upload a small video clip, and again promote same video clip on social bookmarking sites and social networking sites, thats what i always keep on doing for all my blogs lol

Do you have an RSS Feed for the blog? Submit it to RSS directories. There is software to automate the process if you are concerned about time.

Ok, first thing - who is your targeted group or audience? Exactly "who" are you trying to attract to your site? Are their religious, sex or race factors involved?

Think about where you spend some of your free time at. Do you "really" go to stumble and look through those bookmarks, do you go to twitter and look around?

Where are "you" at on the internet? And where you are at, your targeted audience might be in the same places.

I use video blogging because there is such a wide range of videos on youtube. You can find just about anything you want. Whether its about hunting, hiking, camping or digital photography, its on youtube - and people watch.

For my targeted audience, I decided to go the video blogging route and it has paid off big time for me. If someone sees my videos on youtube, and then goes to my forum, they are 65X more likely to create an account then people that found my forum through google search results.

As for my blog, I take the videos I post on youtube and embed them into my site.

As a partial result of my video blogging, my forum has grown 10X faster then my competitors. The blog does ok on traffic, but the videos are linked to my forum and are water marked with the forum name. When I post a video watermarked with my blogs address, and a link to my blog in the video description, my blogs traffic goes up.

If you want an example of a news blog on youtube, go look up Travis and John. If Travis and John can be powerful players on youtube, anyone can. You just have to find your "groove".

Based on my experience, promoting a site using SU and Digg is very unpredictable. Visitors from them are readers, not buyers or ad clickers. Like social bookmarking sites, blog directories are also good in link building but definitely not getting targeted traffic.

For me, the best way still is though search engines. Although you can also try social sites like Twitter to find potential customers.

Also, article marketing and guest blogging are good ways to get targeted traffic. But of course, it all depends on how you do it.

I think you also need to do article submission. Submit your articles to few quality article directories that have fast approval and that are mostly visited by readers. People love to read interesting articles especially those blogger owners. If they have found your article useful resource to their own blogs, they will naturally link with you by adding your article to their blog including your article's resource box.

Are you sure you want suggestions for all the links you included in your message? I even think it's not allowed to put many of them in any forum.

Here's my first suggestion. Don't post too many links in a single forum post. Use an attractive signature if you really want to get targeted traffic to your blogs.

Twitter is the best way, but you need to join related group, so it will be more effective.
