The location of Your Blog and a Good Blogging Platform counts. Although there is no definite answer to the first question, in general, most sites will benefit from a blog located at yourwebsite.com/blog rather than blog.yourwebsite.com or even a completely separate site such as a Blogspot blog.

Using a good blogging platform or content management system will save you time and money in the long run. My favorites are Wordpress. And don't forget to make sure the design of your blog is simple, clean, and not too cluttered with information. Simple is always better.

its hard to promote with tons of other blogs out there.. thats what im finding but it takes work so just keep it up and it will pay off

And you could use Twitter, Facebook, Digg etc. too.

I have found that more and more people these days like to use flash in their blogs.

Don’t use too much Flash. Sure, Flash is cool when used sparingly on a website, but use it too much and it makes your website look like the Vegas strip. Flash-only sites can work in some rare cases, but blogs aren’t one of them. If only the music and movie industry could figure this out.
