A blog is no different than any other site when it comes to how long it takes to get PR.
Read the following article to see if maybe it will help answer your question.

Additionally, although PR certainly plays a part in the whole picture, it is not something you should get hung up on.
Focus on developing and promoting a QUALITY blog and everything else will fall into place.

Hmmm....you need to have good links to your site and also update your site regularly, this is more important.

You may already have some PageRank, without necessarily knowing it. Google is constantly re-calculating the value of your site.

I guess you are referring to toolbar PR. As has been said Google is constantly updating so almost day to day you can see changes in your ranking. However, Google only update the PR that is available on the Google toolbar approximately every 3 months.
Just keep doing what you are doing, build some good backlinks and don't worry about PR.
PR is just an acronym for ego, it is traffic that you want to worry about

I second this. You should monitor your keyword rankings and traffic rather then PR. PR is updated once in a while on toolbars however any changes you make to your site be it onsite or offsite, it is factored in fairly quickly.

Google is unpredictable. No one knows when Google updates its PR. But before that time comes, make sure to get quality of back links. Google gives more value on the quality compared to those irrelevant sites that you are getting.

Google takes a long time to update pagerank. Expect a few more months until you get a pagerank value.

I think the last PR update was the 30th. Check out your site now and see if it's improved.

Dude, don't worry about page rank, it will come eventually. I know someone who never built any backlinks at all and still got a page rank of 2.
Just keep building backlinks and writing articles, the main thing you have to worry about is traffic. Some sites have a page rank of 3 and still don't get any traffic daily.
I'd have to say it's a good overall ranking of a site, but not always. I had a PR1 blog once and got over 1000 hits daily.
