Facebook apps to promote the blog

Hi All,

I have a question.

I am the "official" writer on the blog for the company I work for. I have created a business facebook page for them and I want to promote the blog posts via facebook.

I used to have the RSS reader application, which didn't work really well. I had to go and update the feed manually in order to show the latest posts on the wall. That's kinda defeats the purpose of the ap. Plus it wasn't very fast at updating the feed. I removed that app and went with networkblogs.
That works really well, posts nice wall post on the page and my profile with a link and a description to the latest blog post. However, when people click on the link, they can view the site but under a url like http://networkedblogs.com/pXXXXXX (replace X with digits for a real url).
You can then browse the blog, but it stays under their url. You have a little cross at the top right, to close their header, which only then makes you access the site.

That's all I have so far so I am keeping it, but if somebody could direct me to a better application that makes people access the site directly (mostly for tracking purposes), it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using this one http://apps.facebook.com/rss-connect/presentation.php.
a) It updates by itself
b) You click the blog post title and it expands a snippet
c) if you click the read more link at the end of the snippet it goes to the post.

I've been looking for something like that, you can get a lot of traffic from Facebook, especially if you have a lot of friends. Can't beat free traffic!

is it updating your feed fast? The reviews on their application page are terrible.

The free version and never really noticed if it is slow or fast. I installed it and forgot about it.

Just for you, I'll think of a new blog post and test.

Did a new post at 11 p.m tonight. Not showing under my name here yet as I write this but:
-Google indexed within 3 mins

-Hasn't shown immediately on my RSS feed on my Facebook page.

From developer's information:

Update: The RSS feed on my Facebook page has been updated over night. So that's within 9 1/2 hours (don't know exactly how long, was asleep

)

Thanks very much for your information. I will try it out then.
I know my blog posts get indexed right away because I receive a Google alert email within 2/3 minutes each time

I don't really care if it takes half a day to show under facebook. I will check the application out.

nice way to get more traffic with facebook apps. it's really helpful to promote your blog with this way.

Good info. The standard method provided by FB ends up having people posting replies to the blog inside facebook, so I end up with tandem sets of replies going. Will ck this one out.
