How to increase blog traffic

I have three domain name for the last two years. All of them were hosting website. which were not getting enough traffic so converted my website into a blog by installing wordpress.

In no time the traffic was increase with the help of few plugins ofcourse. so just want to let you know if your stuck with no traffic install a blog and write good content and get traffic. the blog dont have to be on your main domain name you keep your site and install blog on another directory example : yoursite.com/blog .

I think having a blog is a good idea and especially if you are adding quality and original content to it. Though let me tell you it can take a significant amount of your time and a lot of your effort too. Which are the plugins that helped you the most?

I agree with what your saying it does take lot of time. But has it's own advantage like Content, Syndicate - RSS Followers, COnversation and my favorite Easy to publish.

All in one SEO

Also use twitterfeed service It's not a plugin

I love blogging. Blogs are great for SEO purpose's.

As mentioned before with a couple of SEO plugins, all you have to do is provide the content and do a little bit of link building.

Some good SEO plugins that i am using are as follows:

All in One SEO Pack
iRobots.txt SEO
Robots Meta
SEO Friendly Images
SEO Slugs

Be sure to add some social buttons at the beginning or end of your blog post. You can gain extra traffic from a few of your subscribers using these tools.

Another good suggestion is to add images on your blog. Images don't just give your blog posts a visual point of interest, but also can give you traffic from Google Image Search. Just optimize its file name with its right targeted keywords to increase its online visibility.

You can do blog commenting to increase traffic to website. While it is good to comment on do follow blogs, you must not ignore the no follow blogs.

You can find the blog posts with relevant content. Read the content carefully, and comment sincerely based on your understanding of the blog post.

As long as you use the Name/url function to leave comments, a backlink is generated to your blog.

You can write articles for the popular blogs in the form of guest posting.

You can benefit from the traffic of those popular blogs. You have to study the blogs. You have to know what kind of articles are suitable for the blogs.

Some blogs are extremely personable. The blogger and the readers know each other very well.

You can share your personal experience in order to endear yourself to your readers.

And...

Articles are the best way to get targeted readers to your website. You can submit articles to popular article directories.

I have a free wp blog and whatever free theme Im using,I find a ad under my post and Im not using adsense .
Coming back to the thread,you can bookmark every post,submit your blog to blog directories and feed directories and participate in social media sites in order to get traffic to your site.

If you are active on social networking sites, it also is beneficial to share your blog posts with these audiences you already have established. If you are creating quality content, this audience could produce third party endorsements for you.

Just write on topics which are currently trending. It isn't necessary to Daily Blog about things which people will not even search or read. Install WordPress SEO or AIO SEO plugin, focus on the keyword density while writing the article. Submit the article to Social Bookmarks. Build backlinks by commenting on KeywordLuv/CommentLuv/NoFollow Free blogs.

Having a blog and updating it regularly can be great advantage. Google prefers sites that are updated now and then again and again. Having a blog for your website acts as plus point for your search engine visibility. This is one of important experience you have shared.

As many have stated, Content is Key. The better your content and the more you put up the more google spiders will crawl your site. That is just one of many ways to help increase blog traffic. using social media is another great way, Facebook fanpages, Twitter accounts for a specific niche as well.

The folks who made the All in One SEO plugin no longer support it. I've switched over to the Platinum SEO Plugin. It has the same framework as the All in One and you can even import the options...but the Platinum one is far superior.

Also use SEO for Images, and SEO Search Terms plugin for added juice.

I haven't seen iRobots.txt SEO before, i'll have a look at it, the others I've used and are great!

Recently I've been using SEO Ultimate as an alternative to All in one SEO, it's got a lot more features, even 404 notifiers etc too, i'd recommend checking it out

The drawback is when your blog is dofollow, there will be a lot of spams to handle.

Yeah. You just have to try to control it. I have a few spam filters, seems to help a lot. Only received 2 spam comments in the past week.

I uses the combination of Akismet and GASP. I dont get a lot of spam. However, I do still need to moderate poorly written comments

If you manually moderate each comment then the spams could be sorted for sure. I know a blog owner who simply edit the comments, remove the links in it and approve it.

Quality content is the most important and basic point for you. I do think you can optimize that with outstanding charm to users.
