I agree it's not very attractive. I submitted my travel blog a few weeks ago. 35,000+ entries I can see it taking a lot longer than 117 days.

Depends on geolocation - in UK they are No1. too

I could be wrong but I don't think the word 'blog' would bring in much traffic anyway - I am listed on the britblog which is #5 on Google for 'blog' and I've not had one visitor from it.
