I need to drive some traffic to my blog, no one knows about it, no one is reading it, I'm not even getting a comment here and there, any suggestions on how I can get some attention to it ? I know content is important, that is something I'm working on. My blog is specific to a specific genre, I want to open it up to anyone.

What blog software are you running on? Reason for asking if it's WordPress, i wanted to make sure you have a good SEO plugin installed.

Are you getting any traffic at all from the search engine? I understand it's not a lot as you mentioned.

Do you have any social bookmarking buttons added to your blog homepage and blog posts?

What i do after i write a blog post is use the social buttons to submit my blog post to the social world. I gain new followers this way and also some people just happen to actually read my blog post after that. Can't say if they like the content but i get traffic this way.

Like mentioned earlier, fill in your v7n profile. You have over 30 posts so you can add 2 links in your signature, plus add your blog feed URL in your profille. By posting on forums (quality posts), you could gain a few visitors this way on large webmaster forum's. Sometimes i click on signatures because i like the advice some people give on here and curious to know about there business and tips.

Try finding blogs in your niche and contact the blog owner to see if you could write a guest blog post. Tell this person that the blog post is related to there niche and you will only post 2 or 3 links to your blog if that's ok. (I get some emails from people asking this type of info once and awhile)

By doing guest blog posting, you will be targeting people who are somewhat or really interested in your niche. You could get some new loyal visitors this way or even that one blogs visitors tell there friends about your blog. Sometimes the viral marketing will kick in for no good reason.

What marketing methods have you tried already? Maybe we can help you improve on those methods. Takes time to build up a lot of traffic on a blog.

1.Submit your blog to blog directories and RSS-directories.
2. Add feed to all your profiles - LinkedIn nd so on (and v7 for sure)
3. Regularly post your posts to facebook and twitter and so on.

Add your blog to all the social media sites and start inviting people. Facebook is the best, in my opinion, because if you can get some people to "like" it, then a lot of people are visiting your site. You don't get any good backlinks from it tho, but you will get the visitors. You may want to consider hiring out your backlinking. I'm sure this forum has excellent links to SEO services.

Try linkreferral. Just register and start your campaign over there. Me sure that you have provided some description about your website in the campaign to give a quick insight to the users.

My blog isn't listed on any of these Alexa Rank, Backlinks Google, Backlinks Yahoo, Feed Burner, and Google +1. Is Alexa Rank important ?

I do have the same problem with you too Dynasty!
I build my first blog on blogspot tho when I tried wordpress, hola I got more followers and whenever I see my stats growing it really made my day!!

Ow yah, lonely blogs. Mine is too, and I know the reason - I do not dedicate it much time and effort. Too tired after a usual hardday to produce a booming slapshot-post - and I just don't like weak writings. Maybe you also need to write more?

I get like this from time to time and then try to recruit a few guest bloggers so save me from writing a useless blog post. What really helps is don't write a blog post when you are in a bad mood. It never turns out well.

Try your blog on Social networking sites so that everyone comes to know about it ! Now a days people are more on Social networking sites rather then on any other useful thing ! and then try to throw your blog in V7n so that it even get popular .. now you can see that how many suggestions you got to your post in this thread and just think how much you can get to your blog ! That's a good start Dynasty. You'll want to keep building links so that your blog can rank higher in the search engine. Also, article marketing and submitting press releases is a good way to promote your blog. You can write about your blog on ezinearticles or ezinemark and use webwire to get the word out about your website. Just keep it mind that it'll cost about 25 bucks to submit press release from webwire, but it does help with link building.

Participate in blog communities. You can comment on other blogger's blogs. Update your blog because if people come to it and there is no updated content. It will eventually become a lonely blog.
