With 4000+ backlinks you can rank for ANY keyword using a Blog!

Someone told me: "With 4000+ backlinks you can rank for ANY keyword using a Blog..."

I saw many Blogs by myself as well with few thousand back links rank 1st page for "highly competitive" keywords (often using re-directs!) like: buy viagra, ringtones, casino online, etc.

I think it has alot to do with a blog being dynamic and that most blogs are updated daily with fresh content. While other sites are not updated as much.

Can you be more precise? How credible is this "someone"!
Well a possible point maybe that most blogs use either wp/tp or blogger, all of which are mostly based on themes, the layout and all is generalistic whereas the so called sites which are talking about maybe having problem with their on-site optimisation and hence the problem!
According to me however, it doesnt matter if you run a blog or a full fleshed site, all that matters is the quality of the links, the popularity of the page the link is on and the relativity of the content on the page to your page!

The worst thing that can happen is people realise the potential of blogs for marketing your business - imagine all the crap we'd have out in the search engines.

We have enough Adsense designed websites out there cluttering the likes of Google without spam blogs!
