Best Way of Getting Traffic?

Hello, I have a blog here. I was wondering what do you all find is the single best way of getting traffic to it?
One thing I've tried is BlogMad.net and BlogExplosion.com. BlogMad, I invested all my credits into text-link-ads and didn't surf at all. BlogExplosion, I've been surfing / doing BOTB's, and investing most credit's into BOTB... Not the surfing because that traffic is incredibly untargetted. With BOTB I can be sure they are actually viewing my site

But I want to know what those of you with popular blogs think is the best way to get actual traffic

You can exchange links with other bloggers in the same niche. Wanna exchange link? I can put your link on my "Blogs I Read" section here. It's a PR3 page but that's better than nothing.

When I read other blogs I also like to surf to blogs that that blogger recommends. So that's highly targeted traffic.

One of the things I do is 'affiliate' with sites, where they put a 88x31 icon linking to me on their affiliates page and I do the same. I thought it was a good way to gain related backlinks. Now one of those sites has sent me 49 visiters, hopefully those visiters are sticking around

Best way of getting traffic is just add informative & unique content in your blog so that when visitors come to your blog they will find informative posts. Submit your blog in blog directories; add targeted keywords in blog title. All these points will help you in getting more traffic.

Actually - without sounding arrogant forget what was said in the previous threads.

Directories don't give you any traffic - link exchanges don't give you any traffic. I'll give you 3 sites that I guarantee will give you traffic, and if they don't I'll run around nakid shouting "I love V7N"

These three sites alone count for 30% of my traffic - the rest comes from Google, Yahoo and MSN.

With blogs the single best ways to get traffic are from social bookmarking sites like digg.com and shoutwire.com and also to get other blogs in your niche to mention you are give you a plug to their readers.

I get a decent amount of traffic from commenting ( NOT spaming ) on other blogs.
