@Klaas It can benefit you by entering your blog into Blog Specific search engines, as noted by Technorati. Yahoo and Google both have blog specific searches.

As far as setting it up, it depends on which blog software your using. WordPress has a simple setting in the admin panel where you simply enter the ping address of the site you wish to Ping and it automatically does it every time you post.

wp-admin->options->writing->Bottom of the Page.

Just add the sites you wish to ping. I have a few suggestions located here:

I would not suggest using all of them as it tends to slow down the posting process.

Uh, I only ping about 5 sites to be honest with you. The main one would be technorati though.

At least, that's where I see most of my Blog traffic come from.

okay so from your page which would you say are the best 10. Cause I'm thinking of adding ten sites, now I got technorati and pingomatic ( default? )

Which should I defenitely add to get the best out of it, and is 10 to much?

Pingoat shouldn't be ignored either. It pings about 58 sites quickly.
