that's something I would like to know aswell, ( and then add this question ) is it best to have just a small sumarry on your main page, or the whole story? and how many stories would be best?

Well it can be any number of words you want.

I have written blog entries with more than 600-1000 words, and all I use is the <more> command on Wordpress which means that it created a link directing the reader to the full blog entry, but it displays a few lines of text on the actual index.
