Technorati Listing Worthwhile?

Today, I finally spent some time exploring the Technorati website and registered for a free account.

Several questions have since come to mind, which I hope V7N forum members can help answer.

Is it worthwhile to list a site at Technorati? I mean, with over 51 million blogs listed, what could a webmaster really gain from it (except perhaps a microscopic boost to PR)?

From the front page, I saw various categories listed; however, when I submitted my own blog, I didn't see an option to have it categorized. Did I miss something? Or does Technorati categorize blogs automatically, based on the tags you associate with your blog?

As I get deeper into the world of blogging, I am starting to consider having separate blogs for different themes. At the moment, I am mainly using one blog to post about any topic that comes to mind. Am I breaking some bloggers' rule of etiquette by doing this?

When you register with Technorati, you are just tagging your own blog to help Technorati know what it is about.

For example, I went and tagged my blog with the following tags:

* Web development,
* webmaster,
* v7n,
* Google,
* Search Engines,
* Japan,
* Marketing,
* web design,
* Internet Marketing,
* Starbucks,
* Brands,
* tokyo,
* SEO,
* seattle,
* Buzz Marketing,
* Branding,
* Forums,
* Blogging,
* Brand

And the ranking you get depends on the number of links you have.
