Yes, you can..

Just go to Options >> Writing >> Update Services (text box).

By the way, if you are gonna fill your "Update Services" box with all the posted links, it'll make new posts too slower...

Try to use all of them and IF they make new postings too slow, you are free to remove few links

Nope... It only affects the Admin cp.. It doesn't make your blog slower on the user end.

Apparently you just need to put the one in the wordpress admin,

to ping my blogs regularly

And also have added a small list of auto pinging sites in my wp admin
