Site promotion through Blog

Before I implement my thoughts practically I would like to clear up few question.

Help needed.

I have decided to prepare a blog for my site, where every activities of my site will be summarized. And for more information I would like to send my blog visitors to my main site.

For example If I update something in BM Times, then an excerpt of that article or research work will be posted there giving a link back to my main site saying either "for more details Visit here" or anything similar to that.

But I would like to know that, is it a spammy process? Or what kind of information I can provide there, which will be more relevant to the blog concept and will be an ethical SEO.

Not a bad thing really..You can get user inputs that could lead to making the site better...

Dont think it would fall in the "spammy process" category

Are you trying to promote your main site using a blog? Blogging is a nice idea for SEO purposes. I don't see that there is any "spammy process" in using a blog to promote your site..
