I completely agree with Julie.
James Trotta may have a great blog. This is true. And it may, very well, be one of the best blogs you have seen. From what I've seen, James Trotta is a pretty good guy and certainly deserves recognition for his blog as well as his other work. No question.
However, the three reasons you listed for voting for his blog have nothing to do with the challenge that John put forth for this particular contest. This contest is about getting more exposure for lesser known blogs. There are people who entered the contest who have done a lot more to try to accomplish that.
1. Adding other blogs to their blogroll.
2. Blogging about other blogs.
3. Blogging about the contest to try to get others involved.
A high
PR blog does nothing towards the end goal of the contest if none of the three methods listed above are employed. Nor does a high post count here at V7N. To your other point, I would think that writing the content yourself would be a prerequisite to winning anything with that content, but not enough, in itself, to win any contest.
This is also not a personality contest. You shouldn't be voting for your friend or the most likeable person. IMHO, we should all be voting for the person who (we think) has done the most to try to get the word out about lesser known blogs. That, after all, was the point of the challenge.
