Fresh, Unique Content = PR4?
I've got a curious blog question. I have a blog that is 2 months old, and with the latest PR update I received a PR4. I have done little to know work in regards to inbound linking. I exchanged links with the person who developed the blog, but other than that, my main site links to it. At the time of the update, I didn't have the 3-4 links I now have, as I just got those a few days ago. Can a site get to a PR4 with just adding unique content, for the most part, daily? May be your interlinking between the inner pages (as most blogs have) was also a factor

That was not it, as at the time of the update there was only one page. Only recently did is divided the entries up over several pages.

In my opinion, original and updated content is an important factor. I guess google gives backlinks more weight if the site is original and updated.

If your first link was from joelane.com that would be the reason. Its giving you multiple PR pages. Its related content which is very good in the big G eyes.

PR is all about backlinks and nothing to do with content.
