How to get my latest blog post noticed

I've written an article on blogs that i feel is quite good. My blog quite new and although im now quite knowledgable about blogs im not to knowledgable about promoting my posts.

Same here, I just put todays post on Digg about 3 hours ago, and It is getting "Dugg".
The first 2 or 3 I posted got nothing, but I got some decent traffic on this one today.

Why don't you have your latest blog post listed under your name in here? You know that you can set that up in the user control panel where you make changes to your profile, right?

digg, reddit, slashdot, fark - the list goes on. however, each one of these requires a different strategy and has different readership. learn more about them by visiting them, study the way they do headlines, etc... and if your post seems worthy of their sites, submit it!

Joining a blogging network, or a network of bloggers is a good way to get more blog exposure as well.

yeh thankyou all. regarding the posting my blog on here i think i need to have atleast 50 posts but im already a member of a guzillian forums so i'll need to spend more time over here i think.

I wondered that as well. But beyond just your signature, there is also the "blog feed" section of your profile. Whether or not you have access to that pre-50 posts I dunno.

I actually forgot to mention that the article in question (the one in my first post) i guest blogged it on a popular industry blog Harpzon instead of posting it on my own. This brought in some nice traffic. Established a healthy relationship with a popular blogger that could always lead to more guestblogging in the future and i recieved some backlinks and recognition which has helped me create a few loyal readers.

Currently my blogs averaging 100 uniques a day and i haven't done much posting lately so i will need to increase that as i've setout my goals for 2007.

Laura, I noticed Chris' blog feed shows up with only 4 posts.

What shows on the left is only the most recent post. The feed itself and the number of blog posts are not related to the code used here.

Also set up your blog to auto notify blog indexing sites of new posts. I dont know what blog platform you use, but in wordpress there is an option.
