I've just recently had some big success with stumbleupon. It was great seeing all of that fly-by-night traffic. It didn't amount to much but it gave me a nice feeling inside since I knew my site came across a bunch of new eyes.

Ping is something like a poke to tell you, "Hey! I have updated my blog. Come in and take a look."

This feature is only possible with blogs. Whenever you make a new post in your blog, your blog pings (pokes) others to take a look at your new post. Who your blog pings or pokes is based on who you want to poke when you setup your blog.

- Social media marketing; Digg, Stumble Upon, Delicious are all sources of great traffic when the users like your content.
- Article exchange; Nothing else drives more targeted visitors and gives you authority than writing quality articles for other blogs.
- Commenting first on other blogs; Comments are a great source of traffic when you share valuable information and especially be the first one to do it in a popular blog.
- Search Engine Optimization; Nothing to say here. The best source of stable traffic when applied correctly.
