I've just recently had some big success with stumbleupon. It was great seeing all of that fly-by-night traffic. It didn't amount to much but it gave me a nice feeling inside since I knew my site came across a bunch of new eyes.

Ping is something like a poke to tell you, "Hey! I have updated my blog. Come in and take a look."
