O how I hate you guys...

GRRR... I still can't say that word. sp(i[t])-sif-ic

Best thing you can do with a website is have a point and a point that people like.
Good: Facebook (they get to talk with friends)
Bad: Click my ADS!!! (Why would I want to come back? Why shouldn't I leave ASAP)
Good: SpreadFirefox (I love Firefox, I will return)
Bad: MySpace (Look at those ads, which I hate!)

I think the best way is to get pictures of the pacific on your blog. And then get like a layout that looks like the middle of the pacific. All blue etc etc.

One great technique, that gets COMPLETELY overlooked...
If you're using WordPress, link out to other relevant posts from blogs using WordPress! The ping feature will alert other sites that you've linked to them and create a link (albeit nofollow) back to your site on their blog post. This is more valuable for visibility than direct PR transfer. HOWEVER, this IS good for SEO because often the author will visit your blog and if they like your article, they may link to you. I've gained a ton of links this way, not to mention traffic and Social Media votes (Del.icio.us, Digg, StumbleUpon, Netscape, etc) without even asking for them. Some of the other blog authors I've linked to have even become good friends of mine as we got to know each other over time. Think of the whole thing as a conversation between blogs. Linking out is overlooked by many, but an extremely valuable technique.
One piece of advice with this...make sure that what you're doing benefits your readers and the blog authors you're linking to - what goes around comes around.

Write good content. "If you write it, they will come.."
It's true though. People don't come to read shit material. Write good stuff and people will start noticing and then it snowballs. I mean obviously that helps to a point, but to get additional traffic you'll need to employ other tactics...and this last part, the other tactics, is something I've not quite managed to master yet.

Well I've been writing, and now realize the power of social media, just curious how much traffic does the v7n.technology blog get that you post on everyday?

Posting some of your valuable, and relevant blog posts in forums such as v7n works.
Like if alot of people were looking for a list of forums that allow signature links and don't use the <nofollow> tag... I would direct them to~

I use stumble, del.icoi.us, and digg... to find that they can generate a lot of traffic. Forum promotion is another big one .
