Need to increase PR

My two blogs I publish daily have a page rank of 3. One had a page rank of 4 up until about a month ago. Anyone have any ideas on how to kick them up to a 4?

and PR update is every 3-4 months before it will synchronized, so that

That's not how you increase PR.


To increase pagerank you need to have links pointing to your site on (many) other domains which have higher pagerank than yours.

Having said that, pagerank is highly over-rated. I personally couldn't bother less. There are things that are far more important to get traffic, like the things bobchrist mentioned above.

You should look for some way to increase the number of links to your blogs. There are different possibilities.. add your blogs to planets, for example

Well, m' not that well aware of Google's exact strategy for PR construction, but backlinks of course are something to care more about. What I've observed that having inbound links at high PR sites works more. further links and content update alone cannot work if the content is not what the SEs and people sought for, and another important thing is the layout of your blog.

I'd like to share a small part of something I've researched and wrote on DOs and DONT's of effecient blogging some days back. I'm mentioning DONTs only.

1. Do not ever copy the content from any other website or blog, this will let the Search Engine to send to back in the Search Results.
2. Linking is good, but always keep in mind while building links that the websites or blogs you’re going to link are related to your blogging criteria. Google does not consider the irrelevant links and identify them as artificial ones.
3. Avoid Java Scripts in your blog till the possible extent. Use of HTML and PHP is recommended by most of the SEO experts.
4. It’s also an issue that Search engines’ crawling is not that efective in framed pages as it’s in non framed ones, so do not use frames on your blog.

Try to build links- especially relevant links to get good PR in the next updation. Increase the traffic of your site...

link building to internal pages of your blog is also advisable. I've seen many blogs that make at least once a day a short post containing links to other internal pages of other blogs that have related content, but in order to do that you must create your own net of bloggers that are willing to do that, and understand why is so important.

Build more quality links...I prefer building more IBLs than OBL...

Of course there is the tried and true way to get a high page rank. Get some strong directory listings.

Nothing to worry, Just go for getting some quality Inbound links from relevant websites...and have some patience as it will take take around three months for page rank update.....

Well optimising for keywords or social networking and blogging will help you a lot in getting higher rankings but not in getting good PR, For getting a good PR you must focus on some quality inbound links with relaevant and higher PR sites..

you need to have more quality inbound links preferably higher PR quality inbound links.. higher PR than your blog.

You can't go much wrong with that list... if you can get listed in as many of those as you can and then obviously as many free directories as you can you'll be onto a good thing... quality and quantity combined!!!

Also try some more niche webmaster directories... both [links removed] are good ones!

Getting links from other sites with PR greater than your own site is the fastest and the most effective way.

get quality and high PR (7 and 8 would be better but difficult to get for free) backlinks with the targeted keyword as your anchor text would really help a lot
