Networking and blogging

The great thing about blogging is that links and traffic flow freely as long as you make blogger friends. This doesn't seem to be the case with other types of webmasters (like those with static sites).

Do you have any experiences of the value of networking with other bloggers?

Not yet how about you? A friend said to try social bookmarking. I am still trying figure out how this gets friends though.

I guess it all depends what you mean by networking with other bloggers

I started a thread for that lookin to formm a member contributed blog network

I belong to several blog networks that members contribute blogs to the cause
this has worked very well for me being able to post announcement post or short article post to these networks.

This has generated traffic and significant quality links gaining me just recently very high rankings in the work at home keywords with 100's of millions for competition so I know they work I have tested this all summer this year and it does make a difference.

I see across different forums a lack of desire or fear to participate doing this, blogs are hot today for linking and traffic

Having access to 100's of different blogs across many different IP's works very well.

Or you can hunt down individual people who want to trade different links on a one to one basis which I find very inefficient.

Social network is the great place to meet other bloggers on any part of the world. on my experiences, i usually send private message or email my friends to check my new post in my blog and comment on it. Through networking you can also share and ask opinion about your blog or certain products about your site.

Guinanie is right..it's a great place to interact w/ other people,build key relationships,and at the same time promote your blog or business.

Actually that's not true. Static sites, you can network on forums like V7N. This is not necessarily just for bloggers.

Networking with bloggers is extremely valuable. Beyond blogging, there's always chances of partnership in various ventures if the interest is common.

I think it really depends on how and where you link is placed be it on a blog or static page. But I agree to some extent that there seem to be this community spirit among bloggers.. which makes them visit other bloggers site.
