How Come Some People are Allowed to Post Blog Link??
I have been noticing on this forum that some people are allowed to post their blog sites. I think kind of unfair that some are allowed to post but others aren't. Be fair to everyone! Remove all posted links since some moderators find it is a form of spamming....or let everyone post their links if they need personal opinions.

Self promotion is not allowed, however if I'm linking to someone elses, for whatever reason, it's allowed. This is only typically the case for blogs with reputations. Allow me to give you an example:
CopyBlogger
Engadget
Cutt er and Buck
mwaahahahahaaa ha ahaa

What he said. You are allowed to post links to other blogs, but not your own. The only exception is when there is a coding issue or some other specific question that requires the link.
If you find a link that might violate this, you are more than welcome to use the report post (!) feature to the left of each post. Then a mod will look into it.

People that have proven themselves to be an asset to the community are given looser reigns.
I personally like that policy. It helps cut down on the "Hi, My name is SamtheSpam. Spam, Spam, Spam".
If someone has paid their dues so to speak, and they want to talk about someone else's blog - more power to them.

***FAO Chickgeek***
What IF and this is only a big massive hypothetical IF, someone was what one could call smart but it's actually very self-involved and stupid, happened to join twice and use one username to post to their real blog, but as the rule stated above by 'cldnails', this wouldn't be removed as it's effectively posting to someone elses blog?
I think that paragraph would have recieved the "error: Fragment - consider revising" from Mword there but i think you get what i'm trying to say...
And before too many self-involved people read this you might want to cut it out!?
Boog's

If they need review they should post the link in specific section, I don't think that will be considered spam.

I think the posts in this thread are trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. There is absolutely no reason to post a personal blog link anywhere in the forum, except for the marketing section. Any other info or anything can simply be just copied to the thread...is that really this hard to understand?
The forum allows signature links and a link to a blog feed under your name, why spam your link elsewhere? And why try to make it about politics?

a little suggestion on this point: i see a lot of [link removed] in the posts, it is good that self promotion links are removed, but it will be better if you don't remove the links, rather just make it a dead url, by removing the www or http, that way we can understand what the thread is all about.
I got this point from the v7n about us page!
