The only ones I would be using is google, feedster, pingomatic, and pingoat, yahoo, feedburner, syndic8, technorati, newsgator, icerocket, and weblogs. Always have been a useful source for social bookmarking as well

I think one or two pinging service is sufficient to use, likewise I use http://technorati.com/ping, http://www.feedburner.com/fb/a/ping, both works fine.

Does anyone find any advantage to using such a long list of pinging services?

I think that pingomatic and Google Blog Search are the minimum... not sure if the others help.

You can also ping Google manually here:

Pingoat, Ping-o-matic and Autopinger are those more popular pinging site.
