In my opinion, queuing user comment for moderation is more than enough, makes them come back to see it up and check out replies to the comment, some bookmark it which is always a plus. You want to make it easy for people to interact with you on your blog, most users online have several things going on at once, if they feel that they have to register to add a few words in or something, they could loose interest all together.
I actually suggest you ignore blog post moderation actually if it's a new blog to attract more users, even if they do spam you a little, you can always edit the comments, but having a blog with blog posts that have 0comments underneath tells new users that this blog is kind of dead.
