Directory submissions
Make sure that your blog is setup to ping when new posts are made
Paid links / banners

Write resourceful content, link to other bloggers and their articles and the traffic will follow. If you keep writing resourceful content and link to bloggers they might link back to your article. Link from their blog would mean a lot to your blog, in terms of SEO, Traffic and gaining Authority.

A good interesting article / content can go the magic for you. Just choose some good keywords and phrases to make that article / post in your blog.

Then, submit that particular post in social bookmarking websites. Oh! there are many social bookmarking sites here on web like furl, reddit, startaid.com etc.

You can promote it through "webmaster " and "blogger" forums. Update the blog content and submit it to social bookmarking site.

Many thanks for this. I've asked before for such a list and was told 'google it' which doesn't really help.

Most of these I have never heard of. I'll try a test by using a few of these with the same descriptions, and so on to see which ones generate more visits and report back in a few weeks.

As I started to register my blog with these I discovered that many of them (faves, diigo) allow you to inport our del.icio.us bookmarks. This makes the process so easy to be part of numerous social networking sites.

I have tried submitting to digg and reddit but the problem is to get to the front page, else it is as good as not submitting at all.
