Article Marketing - Does it really work

I'm considering writing and manually submitting a number of articles to the article directories. Of course, each article - in the resource box, or elsewhere, will have a link back to my site for SEO purpose.

I wanted to see is anyone could sharing their personal experiences with article marketing? Where did you submit? How many articles have you submitted so far? Statistics on article marketing that anyone could share would be great.

No stats or anything huh? I know i know - there's a lot of information out there on Google - was just looking for personal experiences with the practice! Any thoughts would be great. If not, no worries, I'll submit and recount my experience here for the benefit of all :-)

I don't have any stats but I have submitted numerous articles to directories. You can submit them to:

http://www.associatedcontent.com
http://www.ezinearticles.com
http://www.goarticles.com

Or you can mass submit your article through JetSubmitter. I have also used them and I would recommend it.

Just try to make an article which has something for your visitors - something valuable and interesting to read. So, they can forward it to anybody else also to read it out. A good article always get rewarded by visitors by their comments or star marking. There are many famous article submission websites like ezinearticles.com etc. where you can submit your articles.

I only tried this method once and it did generate traffic but the affiliate program it was promoting was not very good at converting so the jurys still out for me.

A nicely formatted non-keyword driven article could do wonders for even the smallest niche site.

I haven't used article marketing for my blog because it is new and it just doesn't seem logical to write for websites other than my blog if i'm producing content that is related to it. Granted, many would argue that.

I have used it for other sites though and have found it somewhat useful. I recieve a consistent small amount of traffic. It's certainly not a method that you could use and just be flooded with traffic though, thats for sure.

Well, it would not help you much in SEO, but might help you in SERP. If you want to inprove your PR, i will suggest you to post it on high PR blog/website

Yes, it does work.
However, to see significant results - best to submit thousands of articles.
Of course, if you are able to write a few each day for a few years.
Then, it will pay off.

in my experience, it's time consuming and works slow. i'd rather make a new blog or website out of my article and pass link juice from there. but that's just me

when you say submit, do you mean that you cannot reproduce the article on your own site? Or are you just submitting hoping that their will link back to your site and not display your article on their site?

If the full article is displayed on their site, can you then submit that article to other sites hoping for a link? I was under the impression if it wasn't unique content then it would hurt their rankings

Articles Marketing realy works well if it is done in a right way.

Submit as many articles as you can for long time period.

Sumbit only in top directories dont waste your time with
others as they did not give any return.

In some case the page where your articles got listed is not indexed by Google.
